Hola, queridos lectores, el día de hoy escribiré una reseña acerca de uno de los libros que más me han gustado de Laura Gallego García: "Donde los árboles cantan".

Hello, dear readers, today I will write a review about one of the books that I have liked the most by Laura Gallego García: "Where the trees sing."
Para comenzar:
La historia nos ubica en el reino de Nortia, el cuál es atacado por un pueblo bárbaro justo después de los festejos que se realizan cada año en el solsticio de invierno. La protagonista de esta historia es una chica de nombre Viana de Rocagrís (podemos verla en las 2 portadas{aunque por supuesto en una sale como toda una dama, y en la otra... bueno recomiendo leer para poder entender el porqué de la segunda portada }) quién se lamenta de la situación debido a que su boda con Robian de Castelmar (comprometidos desde muy jóvenes) estaba planeaba justo en primavera, no obstante se da cuenta que lo peor esta todavía por venir, ya que ella no puede ayudar en la guerra debido a su condición de damisela.

A little start:
The story places us in the kingdom of Nortia, which is attacked by barbarian people just after the festivities that take place every year at the winter solstice. The protagonist of this story is a girl named Viana de Rocagrís (we can see her in the 2 covers {although of course in one she looks like a lady, and in the other ... well, I recommend reading to understand why the second cover}) who regrets the situation because her wedding with Robian de Castelmar (engaged from a very young age) was planned just in spring, however realizes that the worst is yet to come, since she cannot help in war due to her status as a damsel.
Laura Gallego García es una escritora nacida en Valencia, España el 11 de Octubre de 1977. Estudió Filología Hispánica en la Universidad de Valencia. Su amor por la escritura surgió cuando ella tenía 11 años y decidió escribir su primer libro con la ayuda de una amiga (aunque por supuesto no publicaron dicho libro de nombre "Zodiaccía, un mundo diferente" el cuál puede ser encontrado en la página web de la autora Laura Gallego García ). A los 21 años ya mandaba libros a editoriales, pero todos ellos fueron rechazados, hasta que escribió "Finis Mundi". Los libros que han tenido más éxito (hasta el momento) de la autora es su trilogía de "Memorias de Idhún" (luego haré una reseña de ello :3 ). Ya para acabar diré que le gusta leer mangas (estilo Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, etc.) y es aficionada a los juegos de estilo fantasía-medieval y, por supuesto, también de rol. Algunos ejemplos son: World of Warcraft, Dragon Quest, Kindom Hearts, Legend of Zelda, etc.

Laura Gallego García is a writer born in Valencia, Spain on October 11, 1977. She studied Hispanic Philology at the University of Valencia. Her love for writing arose when she was 11 years old and she decided to write her first book with the help of a friend (although of course they did not publish this book called "Zodiaccía, a different world" which can be found on the website of the author Laura Gallego García). At 21 he was already sending books to publishers, but all of them were rejected, until she wrote "Finis Mundi". The author's most successful books (so far) is her "Memoirs of Idhún" trilogy (I'll review it later :3). To finish I will say that she likes to read manga (Inuyasha style, Ranma 1/2, etc.) and she is fond of medieval-fantasy style games and, of course, role-playing games as well. Mi opinión.
Me pareció una novela bastante sorpresiva, puedo decir que la trama me tomó desprevenida a medio camino, justo cuando ya imaginaba cómo se iba a ir desarrollando; los detalles y eventos imprevistos que van apareciendo te hacen pensar que puedes predecir lo que pasará a continuación, sin embargo aprendes a poco a poco aceptar lo que se va presentando y a reconocer que no todo puede ser predecible, lo cual enriquece y cambia por completo la historia original. Como se habrán dado cuenta con las portadas del libro ocurre un cambió drástico con la protagonista, el cual ayuda a que la psicología del personaje se torne completa y pueda ser percibida de una manera más cercana o real para el público. Hay que mencionar que no es el típico libro de cuentos de hadas donde todo sale 100% bien, hay algunas muertes desastrosas y decepciones profundas que afectan a la protagonista; un buen ejemplo es la actitud que toma Robian, su prometido, ante la invasión bárbara que se lleva a cabo. Uno de mis personajes favoritos es el bardo/juglar quién parece saber todo acerca del bosque donde los árboles cantan, e incluso incita a la protagonista a aventurarse a él diciendo:
"-Puede que descubras el misterio o puede que te enfrentes a una muerte segura. ¿Quién sabe? Muchacha, te contare algo: el mundo está lleno de historias. Todas las personas y todas las cosas tienen historias que contar. A algunas de ellas se llega a tráves de gente como yo, que las relata para que no se olviden. Otras, en cambio...Se viven. ¿Entiendes?"
Otro aspecto de la novela que me agrado fue el cariño que Uri le presenta a Viana al poder expresarse como se debe tanto física como verbalmente hablando. Este personaje tan conectado con la naturaleza nos hace apreciar la inocencia de la misma, y a la vez nos da una lección muy importante; los bárbaros son seres horrendos que por beneficio propio empiezan a dañar el bosque, no obstante el bosque no puede defenderse por sí mismo... ¿Eso a qué nos recuerda? Es claro que la autora dejó varios pasajes y enseñanzas ocultas (bueno, no tan ocultas xD) en su libro y entre ellas está ese simbolismo de la relación naturaleza-humano. Pienso que Uri es el personaje más encantador y puro que he leído en las novelas de Laura Gallego García.
Ahora como punto final he de anunciar un pequeño detallito. El final no me encantó. No es que sea un mal final, pero siento que es cortado de manera abrupta y me quede con ganas de leer un poco más (u.u), debido a ese final tan rápido y tan al estilo de los típicos cuentos de hadas, más lo consideraría un cuento muy largo a una novela (aunque tal vez una novela muy corta no estaría tan mal...).

My opinion.
It seemed to me a rather surprising novel, I can say that the plot caught me off guard halfway through, just when I was already imagining how it was going to unfold; the details and unforeseen events that take place make you think that you can predict what will happen next, however you learn little by little to accept what is presented and recognize that not everything can be predictable, which enriches and completely changes the original story. As you may have noticed with the covers of the book, a drastic change occurs with the protagonist, which helps the character's psychology become complete and can be perceived in a closer or real way for the public. It should be mentioned that it is not the typical book of fairy tales where everything turns out 100% well, there are some disastrous deaths and deep disappointments that affect the protagonist; A good example is the attitude that Robian, her fiancé, takes in the face of the barbarian invasion that is taking place. One of my favorite characters is the bard / minstrel who seems to know all about the forest where the trees sing, and even prompts the protagonist to venture to him by saying:
"-You may discover the mystery or you may face certain death. Who knows? Girl, I'll tell you something: the world is full of stories. All people and all things have stories to tell. Some of them it is reached through people like me, who tell them so that they are not forgotten. Others, on the other hand ... They live. Do you understand? "
Another aspect of the novel that I liked was the affection that Uri presents to Viana by being able to express herself as she should both physically and verbally. This character so connected with nature makes us appreciate its innocence, and at the same time gives us a very important lesson; the barbarians are horrendous beings that for their own benefit begin to damage the forest, however the forest cannot defend itself ... What does that remind us of? It is clear that the author left several passages and hidden teachings (well, not so hidden xD) in her book and among them is that symbolism of the nature-human relationship. I think that Uri is the most charming and pure character that I have read in the novels of Laura Gallego García.
Now as a final point I have to announce a small detail. I did not love the ending. It is not that it is a bad ending, but I feel that it is cut abruptly and I want to read a little more (uu), due to that ending so fast and so in the style of typical fairy tales, I would consider it more a very long story to a novel (although perhaps a very short novel would not be so bad ...).
¿Cómo conocí el libro?
Honestamente ya lo había visto en varias librerías y si no me lo compré antes, no fue por falta de ganas, sino por falta de dinero (xD). Ahora bien, todo se resume a que llegó el día de mi cumpleaños y me regalaron dinero, así que no dudé más y corrí a mi librería más cercana junto a mi pequeña riqueza... Fue entonces donde lo volví a encontrar y decidí no vacilar para poderlo comprar. Aunque por supuesto tuve un pequeño dilema con las 2 portadas, no obstante me gustó más la portada con Viana como dama (ustedes dirán cuál les agrada más).
Eso es todo por el momento, espero les agrade mi pequeña reseña y gracias por tomarse el tiempo para leerla, seguiré escribiendo de vez en cuando.

How did I find out about the book?
Honestly, I had already seen it in several bookstores and if I did not buy it before, it was not due to lack of desire, but due to lack of money (xD). It was then that I found it again and decided not to hesitate. to be able to buy it. Although of course I had a little dilemma with the 2 covers, nevertheless I liked the cover more with Viana as a lady (you will say which one you like the most).
